Alet is a town with a thermal, mineral water source, which has been exploited since Roman times.

Other attractions include visits to the Abbey, a mineral water swimming pool filled with fresh clear thermal water at 24°C...

and of course trout fishing in the "premier category" river Aude on site.

The village also has a white water sports centre where rafting, canoeing and hydrospeed activities are organized ...

...as well as a Forest Tree-Top Trail (for those with a head for heights!), tennis court, bouledrome and mini-stadium available to all.

We can lend walking maps and guide books for the area and outside the village, there are visits to Carcassonne, Abbeys and Cathar Castles, Andorra (for those nowadays rare duty-frees!), skiing or golf.

Horse riding, hill walking or mountain biking (we can hire them to you) amidst the wild flowers.

Underground Caverns to explore, 4x4 track driving

Hot Air Balloon flights or a trip to the Med to dip your toes!

Not forgetting of course some wine tasting of this regions wines from the "Pays de l'Aude" such as Corbieres, Minervois, Fitou, Malepere and Blanquette de Limoux, reputed to be the "original secret recipe" from which Champagne is made!
